Tipping.

I've just finished a decorating job for a very wealthy Barrister. I helped him out with colour scheming, ordering & collecting materials etc. I even took him down to the garage to pick his car up.
At the end of the job he paid promptly, & he gave me an envelope & said. "Have a drink on me". When I opened it later it contained 2-00 !!
How much do you lot tip? If at all.

I work with equestrian people, who mostly own the cars you mention. The majority of them don't have a pot to pee in if the truth be known..everything they have is in the car, the horses and on paper.
I tip waitresses, hairdressers & takeaway delivery drivers. Usually a 10% tip, depending on their mood & mine.

Wealthy people tend to be the tightest... why put it in a bloody envelope too?!
When i worked in Sainsbury's i was told to pack bags (later got promtoed to the tills..) and a very kind gentleman offered me a 1 tip -which was very generous... But that's probably because 1 was 1/3 of my wages at that time and i think he felt sorry for me....

I remember after completing a very large bird proofing job (whilst I had my pest control company) on the roof of a large house, before we took the ladders down the lady of the house asked if would clean her gutting along one side of the building as we had ladders up there any how! and she said it would be really worth our while. It was our last job of the day so I agreed so my co-worker could make a bit of extra cash, it took us two hours to finish the job and clear up and. she gave us 1.00 each!! I was so shocked I just walked away, we still laugh about it know!!
I once quoted for an insurance job. I put in an extra 100 to cover the excess charge, which I would give to the customer on payment. I bought all the materials etc & booked the weeks work in. At 7.30 on the morning I was going to start, I got a phone call from the the customer cancelling the job.
She'd got the cheque & had booked a holiday in Spain! Luckily I got the money back for the materials, but i'd lost a weeks work...It's not all a bed of roses working for yourself!!!

I work long hours and put extra effort in all the time, going out of my way to please and satisfy the clients I work for. My hard efforts save them lots of money (millions) and they achieve fantastic facilities with my dedication, aptitude and professionalism. I dont get a tip, I dont expect one, its my job and I do it well. My reputation precedes me, leading to repeat and new business and my clients respect my integrity. This is something you clearly seem to lack.
I own several desirable cars that sit on my drive. Do you think we (people who own some of the cars you mention) are naive to the fact that the local odd job man comes along and thinks to himself ey up hes got a few quid lets add a large bunce to the price? I think this Barrister really did see you coming!!
