Do the drug user's that use this site work, drive, have children? And please tell me if i've touched a raw nerve with some of you or you think i'm just being intrusive of your personel life.

I don't know of anyone where weed has taken control of their life, I dont take it myself but of course know people who do, at the end of the day people will do what they want to do and re-telling the dangers whether it be health problems or failing a drugs test is not going to stop people doing it. Yes weed can sometimes have adverse effects but when has telling people of the dangers ever made that much difference?

Listen to RATTER laurence. Weed can be detected in your system for up to 30 days if you smoke a lot. This is no way means that you're high for 30 days, and incapable of work or driving. Imagine that!!

well, personally, i don't know of anyone that weed has taken over their lives. no-one!!! you won't have to queue darling, you have a lot of anger and tension built up. you just need a good sh@g. and you obviously choose not to belive me or see my point of view that i am very happy with my life!! and i'm asking, do you smoke cigarettes/ drink alcohol? has something happened to you in the past to make you act like a munter? are you speaking form any personal experience. we are not doubting that what you are saying about urine sample are facts! what we are doubting is that you're personal judgement seems to be more of an issue for you than the factual side of things.

I thought I had better mention that although I have smoked weed in the past (I can count the occasions on one hand) I don't smoke and only drink very occasionally..probably 2 units a month.

i suggest you need drug councelling if you think that alcohol stays in your urine longer than a couple of spliffs.

Concentration, reaction, sleepiness = Alcohol & weed

Oh sorry i nearly forgot, depending on the amount of alcohol you consume, give yourself at least 8 hours from your last alcoholic drink before you drive tho it would be recommended to leave it longer to be sure.

2 spliffs will be in your blood system for em lets see?

Laurence, I accept it will be in the system but way below the levels where it would affect the ability to drive and way below the the levels the police would prosecute you for driving under the influence, can I make it any simpler for you!!!!!!!!!!!!

so what would count as a valuable contribution, I've said I don't smoke weed but know people who have ands would like to know how you think telling people about dangers they already know about will make a difference, sure it would've been different if I'd said "Yeah I do drugs all the time" at the start of any of my answers!

Laurence. You seem to be fighting a lone battle on this subject. I write in support of you. You are accused by some on here of not knowing anything about drugs. It is plainly obviously to me that many of them posting on here,some of whom are users, know little about them either. I will post more later, in response to this question and the other earlier one, where you got drawn into an abusive slanging match with skreetchyboy. My credentials to speak on this subject. I was a police officer for 30 years, and apart from seeing some horrendous drug induced suffering, I was for 6 years a school liaison officer and as such delivered over 550 talks to school children on the misuse of drugs. I was even invited back to one of my schools after I retired to deliver one final talk and still have the letters of thanks from the staff and students.I haven't much time at the moment but will throw in this for starters. It is pointless to compare illegal drugs with alcohol and tobacco. They are also dangerous drugs and if they were modern discoveries I'm sure that they too would be banned. The problem is they have been used for centuries and we're stuck with them. It is impossible to state that alcohol causes more problems than other drug misuse, because it is legal and widely available whereas the others are not and therefore only used by a much smaller percentage of the population. i know it won't make ant difference, i don't care who does drugs as long as it dosen't affect me or my family, whats obvious tho is that the recreational crowd on here can't see further than their nose, tho i'm sure some don't have an issue putting something up it.

And the question wasen't about people ''NOT DOING'' drugs, so why would you want an answer?

Hi chompu, you talk some sense but I still think you have no first hand experience. What makes you think we did no research about drugs before we decided, what the heck you're only young once? The case you have made for drugs not being comparable to alcohol is complete nonsense. If you were to visit a country like Jamaica, Afghanistan, Mexico, Bolivia, you would see that people have happily been smoking weed, opium, taking hallucinogens, taking coke for much longer than alcohol has even been on the planet. The research has already determined that we can fairly safely choose to kill ourselves a wee bit quicker if we choose to. I'm not saying that we should highlight and discourage people from using drugs but at the end of the day, it's nobody's business what we do and I believe the laws do more damage than good, and not just on a local scale.
