Last night me and my mates went out on the town... well me and my friend and her sister in law.
We were drinking wine at my friends first and started chatting about how none of us had ever been in a real fight. We said we had had rows before but never proper fights.

Then we went to town and enjoyed a great night out.

Then afterwards we went to Subway to get some food and as we walked in, some ginger girl was shouting at some guy... he stood there pretty placid and she was drunk and falling about and shouting at him.. she wasn't with him though. So I leant in and said to him 'What's happening?' and he said 'I called her a Ginger minger'. So I laughed and walked off.
I didn't laugh because he called her ginger.. just because she was going mental at the comment.

So I queued (sp?) for my food and was chatting to my friends and this girl was still going on and on and everyone was getting annoyed at how loud she was... So I screamed at her to shut up.. and she looked at me and just mouthed off some cr@p, so I said 'Love, you're a little bit f*cking loud'... Then she told me to shut up and she went outside... Now this p*ssed me off... So I got my food and went outside but my friends were still in the queue... I started chatting to the guy again and he told me how she came in mouthing off at him and he called her a ginger minger. I high fived him at this point and the ginger girl saw and started having a go at me and I was having a go at her and then we were kind of trying to get at eachother but her friend stepped in and was trying to chat to me..

Personally, I would be a bit miffed if I could only drink out of plastic glasses cause it makes your drink taste like cak.

Bobmum - I agree. You never know what someone else might do and I was thinking about it yesterday and I was thinking about how stupid it was coz she could have had a knife or used something! But in all honesty she didn't know the guy she was shouting at, everyone said that she was being loud so he called her a Ginger Minger and she went mental. He stood there being very placid while she was drunkenly ranting at him and going mad... he was just laughing at how pathetic she was being... so were we but everyone was getting so annoyed with her, so I told her to shut up and she wasn't best pleased. Then when we were outside I high fived the guy for calling her a Ginger Minger and she didn't like that either. In fairness, apart from me telling her to shut up..she did everything else off her own back and she was the one who wouldn't get out of my face and she was the one who grabbed my hair first.... I did it purely in self defence! I would NEVER lay a hand on someone unless they did it to me or one of my friends... I've never had a fight before and PLEASE pay no attention to Leg-end... I am far from 'Ladette Material'!
Don't get me wrong.. I can give as good as I get and why the girl walked off crying, I will never know.. she started everything and she was the one who grabbed my hair.. Clearly she underestimated the situation and thought from her angle of attack (which was from my blind spot) she would have an advantage but this wasn't the case.

Ohwell... I don't care... I don't plan on fighting ever... well.. I never planned on that one but as you say.. when you are drunk, sometimes these things are hard to avoid!

Hey ruby... Ive always found that if you really have a problem with somebody get into a boxing ring and fight it out there............its controlled and not a drunken braul, then when you have knocked ten bails of crap out of each other you can sit and talk like humans and not fighting like animals.
I expect the lass was a bit miffed at being called a ginger minger and with the alcohol not a very good double act!!
glad your ok though could have been a lot worse!!! : )
My tuppence worth
the fact that you "high fived" the lad probably tipped her over the edge RR, she may have (wrongly) thought that you, as a member of the same sex were coming to her aid, then she sees you doing some kind of "victory" celebration with the very guy she has been argueing with!!! how would you feel if the situation was reversed?
well said john

The difference is John.... I wouldn't stand there screaming insults at a guy coz he called me a name.. His choice.. if it's not true then why should it bother me.. I don't think I'd be offended... The guy had probably had a drink or two and she was plastered.. she should have known better and to walk away... He was with some females as well but they must have been about 4 years younger than her.. she was probably about 25.. and she was starting on them too.. As far as I am concerened just because we are the same sex, it doesn't make her right.

Ruby you might be as fat as a house but the chances are your not going to want to be ridiculed for it me dear!
And yes she might of been over zelous but then as i said its the perils of alcohol
.. she should have known better and to walk away
your words, why didn't you put them into practice?
why did you feel the need to get involved in the first place?no wonder the poor girl flipped her lid
Question Author
John I have already said I should have known better and walked away... I'm not making excuses for that... But if you are drunk and you walk into a fast food place mouthing off and annoying everyone and some guy calls you a Ginger Minger, what should you do? You should ignore him. But she was screaming abuse at him, calling him names, falling on the floor... even her mates were telling her to shut up.... I told her to shut up... In so many words... I went outside.. she was about 20 feet from me and I was chatting to the guy who called her a Ginger Minger.... I high fived him and she came storming over.... she didn't even know why I high fived him... She said 'I've been having a go at him and then you go and high five him?'! I told her it was none of her f*cking business if I high five him or not... Actually I think what I said was 'I could blow him here in the street and it wouldn't be anything to do with you'... Which is true..... It was NOTHING to do with her.... for the first few mins me and him were talking about Subway anyway and not actually her..... So then she comes storming over and trying to row with me... we were screaming at eachother and she kept going on about how he called her a Ginger Minger and I was saying 'Who gives a f*ck?' and then she went on about it so much that I think I said 'I'm not suprised love, look at the state of you'... That's when it kicked off.... Now who was the one causing the row?
You for getting involved
anyway, the saving grace from this sorry tale is that you apparently feel ashamed, and so you should!!!
I have been in some ridiculous fights, I have ony ever thrown a couple of punches though and that was against somebody that physically scarred me for life. The rest I loudly refused to be drawn into them pleading pacifism and ended up getting knocked out once and looking like a panda after another, and getting a broken wrist from another. The next time somebody tries to draw me into a fight I will either win or run away, this change of principal has scared off most would be attackers ever since and being a big laddie helps too. I have also batttered somebody for stealing a book out of my pocket when I was waiting on a bus, I went pretty mental as there were 2 of them but the perpetrator got a mighty good kick to the head, practically knocking him over a wall before his mate restrained me and apologised for the folly of his pal. Felt amazing to punish a would be pick pocket with pure unadulterated violence and a guy that Ispoke to on the bus was totally up for helping me get them further along the road but I couldn't be bothered and it was one of the last buses of the day so I declined his offer of becoming a vigilante crime-fighting crack team of assassins with him!
PS RR,
I AM ginger, and for all I know a minger, but if anyone wants to call me that, then they must feel pretty insecure about themself, I would probably agree with them and laugh it off
I'm sure if you were a few sheets and somebody said it you'd go a bit nuts JL! I have long hair and am often the but of jokes form passing ne'erdowells and occasionally become pretty vocal about the moronic insults directed towards me, especially if I've had a few and even more especially if I think I can batter them, fortunately they usually **** off when they realise that they have picked on the wrong person this time.

Exactly John.... if someone called me a name I would laugh it off.. I very rarely (if ever) take offence at something someone has said to me... especially someone I don't even know!

But what I am asking is.. How the hell can if be my fault we had a row? I was chatting to the guy which was as far as it went.... she didn't know why i was high fiving him but she must have still been watching him coz it was a good few mins into the convo that I high fived him... She grabbed my hair first, she came storming over, she was the one who was screaming at him in the Subway, she was the one who wouldn't let it go..... and She was the one who walked away crying!
I would prefer strawberry blond john, and ruby it seems to me that you were looking for a fight especially as you were talking about it only a few hours ago.
When you eventually get your face kicked in ,which you will my dear because there is always someone bigger and better than you , you might realise that high fiving a lad that you have never met ( which might have had a romantic involvment with her ) is not such a good idea.
And one last thing , it doesnt sound too good saying you could give the guy a gobble on the street if you wanted to.............does nt sound too good cherub does it?
Dont get involved in other peoples disputes you will inevitably come off worse. : 0

Tattoo - I don't know where you think you get off pretending to know me but you seem to not only have the wrong end of the stick but you also appear to have it jammed up your @rse!

1 - I did not go 'looking' for a fight. She started on me and just because I defended myself... And defended myself better than she had predicted, it doesn't make me the one in the wrong.

2 - I doubt very much I will get my face kicked in.. (touch wood, and I don't want to jinx it) but I don't hang about in crowds that are violent or live in a town where this occurs much. (This particular fight was a few towns away) The point is, I know how to handle myself and I know when it's right to walk away if it looks like it's a situation I can't win. I'm not stupid!

3 - This guy had NO romantic, friendship, relative involvement with the girl whatsoever! I had already found this out! There is no way I would have got involved in someone elses domestic! That is their business! I only got dragged into this one coz the girl was like a rottweiler and wishing to have a fight with anyone that looked her way!

4 - I didn't start sucking the guy off in the street and neither did I say it was something I would consider but I merely used the example to prove a point to the girl..... Just because she was having a slanging match with the guy... it didn't give her the right to shout at everyone he came into contact with... She wasn't his keeper.. let alone anything else! It was none of her business what I said or did to him!
Question Author
Sorry Tattoo... I just read that first bit back and it sounded slightly ruder than when I wrote it!
But I still can't understand why you felt the need to get involved RR?
1)it wasn't your dispute
2) you didn't know either of them
3)you didn't really know what it was all about,
I agree with others who have said that you are a silly little girl, do you not consider that your actions may be seen by some as bullying by proxy?
the "high five" action alone is a visual sign of support to the male in the situation. Talk about inflamitory, it seems to me that, that alone was like pouring petrol on flames. Didn't you look around you first to see if she was still in the area?
