Being in control

For all of you who have read my previous (mainly unhappy) posts about my long time partner, finally dumping me via email. He has now decided to contact me again! No big surprise to me. But I am actually replying to his texts as it makes me feel in control. I will never get back with him. But it now feels totally like closure to me, even though he has started contact. All be it, "friendly" as he puts it. Can anyone understand this closure bit, or am I just being stupid in replying?
