My doctor suspects I have fibroids as she could feel something when examinining me (she could feel through her hand on my stomach, well uterus). Has anyone had these? Is it normal to pass clots during your period or is it just because I may have these fibroids? Does anyone else have clots?

oh thanks - an answer! I thought I was being ignored in favour of talk about poo there for a minute!
Sorry, wasn't ignoring you! Just thought loads of others would post! Yes I think this is normal. Well I do anyway and have done for years! My daughters also do (I've just asked them). So don't worry too much.
hi liquid, i was diagnosed with fibriods and had to have a hysterectomy, yes passed clots when having my periods, it depends on your age and the size of your fibroids, on how they deal with it!!!
Question Author
did u have to have a hysterectomy because they were large and giving problems. I think if they are small they leave them, guess I will see at the scan.
yes it was cos i was told i had a big one, but i could have given birth to it, it was massive, dont want to scare you as your circumstances could be so different to mine, and then that the reason i had a total hysterctomy was that they can grow back, and also my age, as i wasnt going to have any more children!

Ooh sounds nasty, I have heard they can be very large. Guess that was obviously the right thing for you then. I never realised fibroids were so common, the more people I talk to the more people say they have them or they know people that have.
