Is this the first time?

It is the 22nd of August and I have been forced to put the central heating on.

I do not usually feel the cold and am fairly "green" regarding household energy.

Has anybody else been forced to put their heating on, and if so, is this the first time in living memory it has been on in the summer?

well it is absolutely scorching here, i have just taken my grandson into town and we bought an ice cream before we went back to the car. The sky is blue and the breeze from this morning has dropped, it is sunbathing weather up here lol

There is no need to put heating on until 01 Nov, any man who lives alone in south East England and has to resort to central heating in mid-late august (a mild-cool) can surely only be a wimp!!

Well in the sunny south, it is akin to the North Pole. In fact, I thought I saw a badger earlier but a closer inspection revealed it was a penguine.

well i need to get up during the night (4am last night) to turn the blood$ heating OFF. my boyfriend claimed he was freezing and duly switched it on before bed.
this is the start of warfare as i see no need to get baked in bed while he throws the covers off. aaaaaargh.

Well lambert.

1) I am quite a few miles away from Brighton with no warm Atlantic breeze.

2) 21 degrees is a maximum not a standard

3) You seem to ignore the nearly 30mph wind.

4) As my thermastat is set to 20 degrees, perhaps it is in fact cool air con???

Im on that map todqay and I can tell you it is blinkin' freezin' outside!!!! :(
Luckily Im in an office attached to the factory where our big machines are and I have to have my air con on most days. But then need a coat when i leave lol

Just checked my outside thermometre and the mercury is set at 13 degrees celius with the wind chill factor no doubt taking it to about 9 degrees.

That is autuminal if not winter temps.

Im a wimp then because I live in SE and my heating has been on every morning for an hour to take the chill off the place all this week. I live 5 minutes from the sea and the wind has been sweeping in straight off it which always makes it feel colder.
Listening at night to the wind and rain, it is more like November out there!

Just checked the current conditions on a webcam site, its 15c with the wind chill and we have wind speeds of 35 mph with gusts over 40 mph.........my heating hasnt been on since this morning but i may put it on when i get home.....Ive got to go out in that! :(
