A recent article has suggested that it is not looks that woo a woman but instead good manners. Tips for men on how to make a good impression include be early for dates and never use cheesy chat-up lines. In the poll women put manners above looks and intelligence. What do you think? Are good manners an absolute must in a partner? Or are they more of a bonus?

In my experience the bottom line is at a woman likes to be treated like a lady and likes a bloke to be a bloke.

Not in a chauvanistic way lol
I think if a woman finds a man generally unattractive, that no matter what they do open doors, polite, give up their seat etc etc, they would probably find them a bit scary, slightly creepy and ultimately repulsive.

So the question assumes that a woman has already found them attractive enough to go on a date (how else could you turn up early?) Women always say these things in polls to make themselves appear more.....acquiescent, but us gentlemen know what they really want and where their eyes are looking!
Peeing in the shower??!!

Good manners and courtesy are essential.

I always lie on the damp patch.
I agree with octavious, if you are not attracted to the person, no amount of door opening or punctuality will every endear the person to you.

manners are okay, but I prefer a good intelligent conversation...
