I am sceptical about letting my daughter get it. Are there significant tests that have been taken or are our teens just guinea pigs for nasty side effects?

fo such an important decision, you could do so much better than ask for peoples ill informed opinions. You need to do proper research to satisfy yourself . You need to get their reseach and actually read it yourself.- have yuo tried looking at the department of health websitte for a start?

However, if you do want ill informed opinions, i would say that the govt are hardly going to give 50% of the population of 11 year olds a jab that hasn't had signficant testing

Hi Miss-Ladybug,

The same company that produces the cervical cancer jab are on trial for the Hep B vaccination.

You are right to question it because no drug will ever be 100% safe.

PARIS, Jan 31 08 (Reuters) - French authorities have opened a formal investigation into two managers from drugs groups GlaxoSmithKline and Sanofi Pasteur over a vaccination campaign in the 1990s, a judicial source said late on Thursday.

Judge Marie-Odile Bertella-Geffroy also opened an investigation for manslaughter against Sanofi Pasteur MSD, a joint venture between Sanofi Aventis and Merck the same source said.

The investigations follow allegations that the companies failed to fully disclose side effects from an anti-hepatitis B drug used in a vaccination campaign between 1994 and 1998.

There was no immediate comment from the companies or the two managers involved.

From 1994 to 1998, almost two thirds of the French population and almost all newborn babies were vaccinated against hepatitis B, but the campaign was suspended after concerns arose about possible secondary effects from the treatments.

Some 30 plaintiffs have launched a civil action in the case, including the families of five people who died after vaccination.
I am concerned that they have moved the age of a smear up to now to 25 I was 21 when I had to have cancer cells removed so how much would it have progressed if left, also a lot of girls and women I know shy away from smear tests when they are essential. My mother would never let me have any injections i.e TB or rubella she didnt want anyone putting anything into my body. Now I am old enough to make my own choices and it has done me no harm.
