Why do some posters on Answerbank use names that do not fit their gender?

The majority of users just use a name not related to any species but others are more blatant in their choice. When that choice is of the opposite sex its a form of coming out and maybe they should be praised for telling the truth how they feel. Its well known that secret organisations like the masons harbour many homosexuals but because of the secrecy are unable to tell the truth so its make them untrustworthy don't you think?
