i had a laparoscopy done on friday morning and was back home in the afternoon the hospital had given me plenty of painkillers while i was there so i didn`t feel much pain but the next day i was very sore and had to stay in bed until today i feel slightly better but im experiencing a lot of chest pains and feel like i cant breath and by back is very sore since ive never had an operation before i dont know if this is normal the doctor said i have to give it a couple of days to see how i go before she can come and see me as im also finding walking a struggle but the pain is still there does anybody know why ?

The cause is that the surgeon inflates your tummy/gynae area with a gas so they can see your organs properly. At the end they suck the gas out, but some of the gas can remain & it disappears over the following days. It presses on nerves that go right up your chest to your shoulders & it is extremely painful when that happens. Mine sorted itself out after a few days & I was fine.
