Mully - I'm afraid I have no idea if that is normal or not. But you are in pain and concerned so why don't you phone your surgery to ask some advice or (if you're in the UK) call NHS Direct 0845 46 47 - if you describe your symptoms they will tell you what course of action you should take.
Mully, I don't know about the back pain, but chest pains and shortness of breath are BIG symptoms for heart issues... I would advise you not to delay, and get to a hospital!
Nothing is better than a DRs opinion when you are worried about something like this, but I had a Laparoscopy last year & felt exactly the same...I can't believe they didn't warn you that you might feel like this. The cause is that the surgeon inflates your tummy/gynae area with a gas so they can see your organs properly. At the end they suck the gas out, but some of the gas can remain & it disappears over the following days. It presses on nerves that go right up your chest to your shoulders & it is extremely painful when that happens. Mine sorted itself out after a few days & I was fine.
