How d'ya know if your avatar is working? I must have tried 3 or 4 times to add an avatar but its not happening, I follow the directions to the letter but it won't happen. What I want to know is where is this box I've got to check to activate everything? I've got as far as cropping my image after that it tells me to wait 5 or 10 mins, - which I do - Then What? nothing happens.
I suppose I must be the thickest ABer >>> I always thought I was average >>> Oh well back to the drawing board. - Doh!!

Hi Jem, I had trouble too! have a look in your AB profile, you need to go into edit user details, and check the box 'show my avatar' and then at the bottom of the page click 'submit' that's the bit I was missing! May it's just that!........................Good luck with it!............

HI Jem, I have just got my Avatar up and running and I think I had the same problems you are having by not seeing the box they all talk about.
When you have done all the business with Gravatar, Return to this site, click MY PROFILE, then click EDIT MY DETAILS.
The first line on the next page says "Your Avatar is inactive", Highlight that wording and a small box with a dotted edge appears underneath at the beginning of the next line. Double click on that small box. (I think your cursor will change to an arrow when you are over the box).
Now go to the bottom of the page and there is a button with SUBMIT written on it.
Click on that button and hold the mouse button down for quite a while as I don't think this submit button works straight away.
Eventually the page may move to the top and your Avatar should be showing.
That is how I finally got things to work for me.

aint chya done it yet - try this & press Submit at bottom of profile page. If the avatar doesn't show keep pressing Ctrl & F5 together.

I think when you have cropped you have to 'submit' on the gravatar website. Then you have to tick the box in your Answerbank Edit User Profile page. If nothing works then press CTRL F5. Good luck.

The avatar box is at the top of your User Profile page, just tick it,and press CTRL F5, if it doesn't work go into 'this' page, and try CTRL F5 again. Get back to us if you still have problems, I am sure someone else can help. You can always ask Ed ..

i had to clear my browsing history,jem. i pressed the ctrl+ f5 and nothing happened. but a thread on here helped me
