The Mc Cann Parents are once again whinging that the British police have given up searching for Madeleine.The search cannot go on for ever using our Police.The Mc Canns have funds to carry on their own search in Portugal but why expect our police to be used when Madeleine went missing in Portugal. She would not be missing if they had not left her in the flat I hasten to add.I so hope that she is safe and well looked after somewhere bless her. Other children have gone missing I do not remember Ben Needhams Mother expecting help when he went missing in Greece many years ago.I am tired of them complaining.

In all honesty I agree with sqad.
The other thing to consider, they left the kids alone. What if there had been a fire in the flat? How long would it have taken three sleeping children to die of asphyixiation?

I'm sorry, but I don't agree that they have suffered enough. Not compared to the suffering of the child anyway. They left the kids alone to go out socialising.

If they had been a family from a ropey council estate then the media would have (rightly) crucified them; but as they were a photogenic, middle class, media savvy couple they have become just as much the victims as she has.

Thank you for your replies and opinions which we are all entitled to. It is just so sad for Madeleine to have never been found. She is the victim in all this.It should now be a private search if her Parents wish to carry on. Not a public one.

I'm sure most members of the public know her face and would be more help provided from the public anyway than the actual police. It is sad and I hope she is still alive and safe.

I'm fed up of the population being told how to feel by the media, then sucking it all up like a sponge. The papers have said that we should feel pity for the McCanns so all of a sudden, all is forgiven.

Another case in point of how we are media led is Jade Goody.
Yes it's tragic a young mother died of cancer, but she wasn't a saint. In fact far from it, she was a spiteful bigotted airhead, yet we forgot all about that and made her the Peoples Princess Mk2

Well for all those who think the police should stop investigating - let's hope Madeleine is not with paedophiles.

As for the McCanns leaving their children to go and dine nearby - they were in a self-contained holiday resort and had they had the slightest inclination that their children were at risk, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have let them out of their sight. However, during 15 minutes in between checks, Madeleine was snatched and Gerry and Kate have had to live with that for the last 3 years, and who knows for how much longer. My heart really goes out to them. There can surely be nothing more torturous than not knowing what fate has befallen your child.

I for one don't believe she's dead. Dead bodies have a habit of surfacing. Someone was seen photographing children, watching the apartment in the nights running up to the abduction - it was something excuted with military precision. Most paedos who snatch children are opportunists who panic and dump the body afterwards. I believe she was stolen to order and she's still alive. Hence they should never stop looking for her.

I too sincerely hope she is not with paedophiles but you can't expect british police to keep this an open ongoing investigation using their resources. They can't do that for every missing child, and she didn't even go missing here.

I agree completely with bobjugs, and whoever said how the other children must be feeling second best.

I make my own mind up. I would feel sorry for anyone that had lost a child through those circumstances. Same as I felt sad that jades children had lost a mother. But I didnt agree with all the hype on the day of the funeral and never liked jade goody.

I believe that all child abductions should be investigated until their is an outcome.

NoM, the police only have limited resources. If they devote a full investigation to a three year old case, what about the cases that are happening today? Should the murder of someone last week have less priority than the McCann?
