Hello my love, I wanted to ask you a quick question.

You know my history with swollen glands, spleen and liver... etc. Well I keep having this dull ache in my abdomen, just at the left side of my belly button. It's been going on for a while and shows no sign of abating. The pain, though not excrutiating, is increasing in both frequency and intensity. Wotcher reckon?

My love.....mutliglandular and multiorgan involvement involvement for 3-4 yrs years now, if my memory is correct and still no definitive diagnosis..........not a happy situation.

The pain could well be due to an enlarged spleen, although ti would have to be very enlarged to reach your umbilicus and I find that hard to believe.

You are well in yourself so we can rule out a lymphoma or a blood dyscrasia.

My love.....let a GP have a feel of your abdomen.

A GP (actually, he introduced himself as the "registrar") felt my liver and spleen and said that they were both slightly enlarged. That was at least a year ago.

I had a course of penicillin going back a couple of weeks ago after yet another throat infection.

The pain in my lower abdomen can't possibly be the spleen, so what else? Ovaries?

Btw... Bobjugs isn't a happy bunny today, but he's doing very well in the new job. I am enormously proud of him, and I'm always telling him that.

You didn´t say "lower abdomen" you said "just at the left of my belly button"
OK we will not split hairs......it could be many things, ovaries, colon and peritoneal glands but the bottom line is that you need for someone to put a hand on your abdomen.

1. Where did Lymphoma come from?

2. What if I said I don't feel well in myself?

2) That puts a different light on the subject.......you need medical re-assessment in the light of your past history.

I meant what made you mention Lymphoma?

As for other symptoms: I'm constantly fatigued, but cannot sleep for very long. I'm always throwing the covers off me in the middle of the night because I incredibly hot. I've had backache and pains in my right side, but nothing monumental. I realise all these things are probably unrelated, hence why I've not sought advice.

I have similar when my ibs is playing up, certain foods cause a reaction in your colon or something.

NoM. I wouldn't consider, I would get on with trying to get to the bottom of it (no pun intended). You've been "unwell" for a long enough time now...

Thanks to everyone for their answers, anyway.

I don't think it's triggered by food, since I rarely eat too much of the same thing. I will make an appointment to my GP. I'm not that worried, I was just curious more than anything.

You should be curious its your body & the only one you'll have soo look after it, Go to your GP ask for a referal it needs investigating - Nom.

it may be triggered by alcohol which if you drink regularly would have an effect.

good advice to see your doc, hope it turns out ok x

I have the odd glass of wine at weekends now, Cazzz. Tbh, I've gone off drink.
