Hippy... you are worth more than being a mistress... you deserve a lot more!

I am yet to meet a woman who has ever been entirely thrilled, or fulfilled, being the 'other woman' and would take issue with it being 'popular'.............
JTH....right.

To me a Mistress is someone who is set up with a flat, indulged in gifts and gets something worthwhile out of a relationship, other than just someone who is visited when it's convenient. There would no point in being a mistress otherwise. That sortt of mistress knows exactly what she is doing and that she will never take the place of a wife. But just my opinion.

To me, if a man loved me enough then he would want to share his life with me and would sacrifice his wife (not his children) and leave to be with me.

A mistress also is a very old concept.

Most 'mistresses' would be better described as a 'bit on the side'.
Butch....bloody fantastic and a smart dresser, keeps a "good home"
A status symbol then Sqad?
That last statement sooooo makes me want to smack that smug look off your face sqad, i'd be furious as being described as "keeps a good home", apart from it being patently untrue in my case it smack of being a meek 1950's housewife.
Lofty....your comment not mine. What is wrong with being attractive, well dressed and keeps a good home.?

What is wrong with being a "status symbol" as some women find it important and are good at it?
Snap BOO. Hence my comment afterwards!!

Sqad's gone off me now that I have admitted I only ever wear jeans!! ;o)

Sqad, BOO's answer describes what I think is wrong with it!!
B00 ... I think "keeps a good home" is a compliment ... not a put down.

Being a mother/housewife is one of the hardest jobs there is ...

(I can't even do it for myself)

... and doing it well is something of which a girl should be proud.
BOO...I respect your opinion.

Has it ever occurred to you that she may feel complete, satisfied and a sense of achievement that she "keeps a good home"

Nothing wrong with the 50.s housewife after seeing some "modern housewives"
Your ideas Sqad is why I often prefer younger men. They have more respect for women as 'equals'.
I'd prefer it if my husband or partner loved me for being me sqad- untidy house (note, not dirty!), scruffy on many occasions and sometimes cobbles up weird concotions for his meals, warts and all!

My husband has seen me at my worst on many many occasions, and still loves me....well, he's still around anyway ;-)
'Housewife' - dreadful term. Anyway I am pleased to announce as housewives go I am not very competent. A good 'wife' yes I think so!!
Snap BOO!
Dunno sqad, i'd feel more comfortable with that statement if it was a woman who'd said it and not her smug husband if truth be told.
I harbour a secret thrill at the thought that whilst sqad is out of the house Mrs sqad is entertaining a young spanish stud-muffin...........only hurrying him out of the apartment moments before her husband returns home.

Am I alone in this.............? :o)
Lofty
