How fit are you hollie? Any underlying cardaic conditions? Are you big, small, short, tall?
Why are you asking, and why did you get your BP done in the first place?
Perfectly normal.
In short, yes. You have to have a pressure of 145/80 before your GP will comsider you are mildly hypertensive. So, no worries.
Depends sqad, if she's 24yrs old, but only 4' tall and weighs 18 stone then i'd be a bit concerned.......

i would say that i am not very fit. on the large side. i do suffer from anxiety but no heart conditions etc. i just like to check BP every so often. we have a BP monitor at home. Im not sure what the margins are for BP for a person of my age.

oh..forgot to say im 5'8"
woman 24years old,4 ft tall (a midget?) 18stones ( a fat midget)........still normal.
I had some terrible blood pressure readings in my old job, 144/92 was the highest I think... I envy your blood pressure! :c)

(I think it's better now, GP seems happy at any rate).
I defer to sqads knowledge on this one. He's got a lot more experience and skills behind him than I have.
Although i bet i'm quicker at placing a 12-Lead than him ;-)
bob LOL

Is that a sex position in S&M?
Errrrrrr, no mate, it's an ECG (as you well know!!).
However, it does involve lots of nakedness, wires, electrical currents and hair removal; so it could fall under the definition of kinky.....
Only Bobjugs and sqad could make an ECG sound kinky....I'm impressed..
mine varies but generally is 115/64 with a pulse of 70, I did suffer from pre-eclampsia where it surged to 170/100
Sounds pretty good to me.
mine is normally around 130/65 with a heart rate ranging from 35-55 (been investigated just caused by ectopics....makes for a nice training ecg
Ok.................gloves off !!

I reckon I'm going to have to resort to cheating :o(

Will walking to the surgery with both arms held in the air help me get a satisfactory BP result ?
I seem to be getting more and more anxious and am producing rotten results, which in turn are making me more anxious.........
this is a good chart to refer to:
http://www.vaughns-1-...blood-pressure.14.pdf
jack, i have a home monitor which my gp checked when i first got it. she now takes my home readings more into account than the ones done in the surgery which are always higher.
I felt absolutely fine until my pre-op assessment threw up elevated BP results on Friday.

Now I actually feel stressed..........
Mondays result and this mornings result have shown no improvement and I have one more go on Friday. A longed for operation is scheduled for next Friday and I can't believe that something I've never been concerned about before could compromise this..........:o(
under the circumstances, couldn't you go and see your gp to explain the position and perhaps start taking blood pressure meds immediately? i know how you feel jack, it's exactly what happened to me and that's what i did, and the op went ahead as scheduled.
