large lipoma on shoulder blade

Hi I have a large lipoma on my shoulder blade about the size of a tennis ball. Has anyone had success at getting one like this removed? what happened in surgery?

i was wondering what the surgery is like (local or general) and the recovery time?

Could be either local or general anaesthesia depending upon the Whim of the surgeon and size of the tumour.
I would guess it would be done under general anaesthesia as bleeding could be a problem in that site and that size.

Probably overnight stay, stitches out in 6 days back to work, depending upon your job, say as soon as stitches are out.

I had an epithelioma on my lower back, which is harder to remove as it adheres to the skin, and was scraped out under local anaesthetic in about 45 minutes in the doctor's surgery. I would have thought a lipoma would have a similar procedure, mine was a bit smaller than half a golf ball and would have popped out easily had it been the more common type. I had about 9 stitches but obviously hadn't been able to see them.
