Why do many men like young girls/women?

I have never ever really understood the state of almost infatuation that older males have with really young girls/women 16+ is this something to do with ego or as the male gets older does he look in the mirror and see a virile 17 year old youth staring back? I could understand an older male going for a woman that's in her 30's-40's as you get a woman in her prime as well as an experienced and often intelligent person. What exactly does a 17 year old have to offer a 30-70 male? Just their bodies? Funny thing is sometime you see young girls taking these old men for a ride, taking their money and using them without ever giving up anything as far as I'm concerned. Is it a trophy thing? Is that it? Is that all some men want in their latter years?

piggynose, no, pedophilia has to do with children. A 72-year-old man who fancies 17-year-olds is no more a pedophile than a 17-year-old who does likewise. A 17-year-old isn't a child. (A 15-year-old isn't either, though the law tends to lump them in together.; it has to draw the line somewhere.)

Not over night...no. There is a big difference between 17 and 20 though. Many 17 year olds are supported...most 20 year olds aren't. That in itself is enough to make someone mature.

strange enough, it was common practice i beleive in the 50´s here for men to marry younger women, but not 13 year olds i might add. but i might be wrong on that.

I've got nothing against Spain at all, but that age seems a bit young to me. Just as well most people living there are well-behaved like Sqad.

Men will rationalise, say they have lovely skin, make them feel younger, less likely to have STDs, but I prefer the idea that we still carry the basic urges of our ancestors long ago, when it was necessary for the human race to breed in order to survive. The older women would be less likely to survive child-birth, so men might still be "programmed" to seek younger women. Another factor is out-breeding - spreading DNA to strengthen the species - many animals do this. The young women would see the older man as more competent, wiser and more stable, a better husband. Your brain can dominate your sexual urges or suppress them perhaps. I adore my wife (she's 55, still a fine lover) and can appreciate young girls who are beautiful or sexy, but I don't fancy them in the slightest. A friend of mine spends half his life sniffing out young girls who are willing. Chacun a son gout.

A point of information - I believe the AoC in Spain is now 14, like many other civilised countries that don't want to make criminals of most of their adolescents.

The questioner is generalising, perhaps without meaning to. Here am I 38, knocking 39, with a body like a matchstick and I get blokes coming at me all the time. Some of them in their early twenties, but then I do look several years younger to most men. So there's the opposite experience.

Possibly we notice the age difference and exaggerate the frequency of it? The English do seem to have an obsession with age-equality (no criticism) which is more or less unknown in East Asia.
