Hi All

Doc diagnosed this yesterday. Have been prescribed some tablets to take off the worst symptoms and being referred for physio.

Has anyone else had physio for this? Does it work?

She said if that doesn't help she will refer me to ENT, what would they do?

Hope something works soon, this is bl00dy awful!

Thanks all

No I havent got it.

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (Nystagmus) BPPV or BPPN in my opinion needs to be diagnosed by a ENT surgeon.

Google Cooksey Cawthorne exercises.

An ENT assessment would consist of hearing tests, balance tests an almost certainly an MRI Brain scan.
yes-have had it on and off for a number of years. But it is only slight now-and easy enough to deal with.
....but if I were you,I would skip the physio, and ask to be referred to a audiologist who can perform a particular type of manipulation that will reduce or remove many or most symptoms. Sorry-I've forgotten the term for them
There is also this link-provided to me by sqad a while back...

Thanks for replies guys
I have this, I only took tablets once for it they said it could be through my diabetes, but there is a great exercise that you can do to stop it, it's hard to explain just put in youtube exersize to stop vertigo it really helped me.
I have had it. I think there are a range of causes. I still get it a little sometimes.

I found the movement sequence that is designed to reposition the grains in the semicircular canals worked quite well for me.
