what have you watched recently and enjoyed?

Looking for some hidden gems. I will watch most things if they are produced well.

We watched Patience with few expectations.

Girt big holes in the plots but we enjoyed it.

Kin was on a while back but we watched it recently and hope for another series.

I'm watching 'true detective' at the moment and would recommend it.

Although watched some years ago - I bought the complete DVD set of ‘My name is Earl’, it’s my type of humour – being a US TV series, some in the UK have never heard of it.

I believe The Shadow Line is still available on Prime. One of the best police dramas i have ever watched.

thank you, I love my name is Earl, so well written.  True detective on Now TV with Woody?

Just finished Ted Lasso. Absolutely superb.

I have just started the 3rd season after giving it a go and omg, it is just without equal. Laugh, cry, laugh and cry again, ugly snotty cry.  Cannot understand why i waited so long to watch it.

I was really surprised. I didn't know what to expect from an American made show about the Premier League, but it's so endearing. And Coach Beard is an utter delight (as is Roy Kean... I mean Kent)

Question Author

So what other than Ted do you recommend?

I just started season two of Tim Minchin's Upright. Not a patch on the first season thus far. I'm not a big TV watcher to be honest.

we are binge watching Mr Mercedes ,3 series starring Brendan Gleeson .It's on Prime .

Northern Shore - Very good Aussie/Brit crime drama

Judge Marianne - very funny French subtitled show

Cra - Good Irish crime drama

Night Agent - bery good American spy drama

Lincoln Lawyer

Bosch

Reacher - the series not the films

You don't realise how many you've seen and can't remember

if you can get it i throughly recommend landman.one of the best series i have ever watched, with a second series coming soon

Saving Hope

I highly recommend The Diplomat on Netflix.

At first it comes across a bit "soap-y" and trite, but when you get to the mid point of the first season you realise the story is a whole lot more complex than you first thought.

And season one and season two end with a "jaw on the floor" moment.

Utterly brilliant.

(If you liked the US version of House of Cards, you'll like this).

Probably not your cup of tea, RandyMarsh, but I watched Bridget Jones, Mad About The Boy on the naughty stick the other day and it was so funny. I laughed and cried in equal measures.

Recently I have watched Playing Nice and Deadwater Fell - they were okay but nothing to rave about.
