A question for the blokes (mainly)...

If you took a lady out on Valentine's night, would you be interested in her? Weird qu. I know... I've been seeing a guy (colleague) for a couple of months, he told me he was happy to see me but wasn't up for a relationship. He was very open and honest about this - I'm happy with that as it would never be anything serious and I enjoy 'spending time' with him ;-) we have seen each other fairly regularly since and now he has asked me out on Valentine's night. Am I right to think that there may be something more to it than sex on his part? To me, you don't ask a girl out on Valentine's unless it's something more - I don't want to speak to him about this as I don't want to get heavy and I'm happy to take this at face value, but I do want to know if I'm going mad! Any advice/views appreciated (even if it's contradicting me!).

raysparx seconded here...quite often guys don't fall for women within milliseconds (although, admittedly, that does happen). I once regarded one girl as a not-actually-that-close friend until I found myself sitting next to her in a sociology class.
Like ray said, have a good time regardless, if he starts doing or saying anything you don't like, just let him down gently.

Hi Sasha.
in your shoes, ide offer a polite refusal.
if the guy has told you he doesnt want a relationship and only takes you out as a friend, then why would he ask you out on Valentines night ??
i may be a bit long in the tooth, but to me it sounds like he wants a trophy on the most romantic day of the year..
if he IS interested in more than friendship and you are looking to him as a future boyfriend, then accept his offer.
:-)

Hmmm, seems this guy has been hurt in the past and doesnt want to 'commit' to you until he feels sure enough. Maybe his last girlfriend hurt him so bad he doesnt want to say he is your partner for fear of losing you again. (if that makes any sense).
I think he does like you, and obviously shows it by wanting to spend time with you. By what you say though, It seems you have already made your mind up that you dont want a serious relationship with him anyway. If your happy just having sex, then carry on as normal. Being asked out on valentines day is just like being asked out any other night of the week. Its just a good excuse for a night out...

I took out my mate's sister out on a weekend just before Valentine's day, and felt I had been a bit naive because I just thought it was a normal date.. But felt a little bit awkward in the restaurant surrounded by other couples... This doesn't really answer your question lol but if he is as dumb as me...
He might of just wanted female company for valentines day i would do the same.
He has also told you he doesnt want anything serious he could be falling for you time will tell.
I also tell the females this even if i do like them just so there not on my case all the time
You have to remember if he didnt like you he wouldnt be with you and he took you out on valentines night so he doesnt mind being seen with you.
Life is to short enjoy your self you dont get a second chance
