Should I lay a guilt trip on her
37 Answers
Bit weird this. I usually play footy on a Friday evening but this week I've arranged to go on a residential course to learn about cob building. Ordinarily this would be great but this week one of the guys wanting to play apparently used to play for Lazio! I think it's a one off. Now I'm definately going on this residential course as a girl I've recently started seeing is going on it too and since she lives miles away it's an excellent opportunity to also get to see her,. That said, would it be bad form at this early stage, given that I'm sacrificing so much to see her, to make her feel guilty about it in a light hearted sort of way?

Not mentioning that the course must have been pre arranged, a deposit paid? and he had made the choice to attend!??!
So if he hadn't of gone on the course, he would have been sending her a clear message that she was on the 'z' list!

You shouldn't make her feel guilty - even in a lightheated way as you state. She's not to know. And it means that you start a relationship playing games. Are you sure that this guy played for Lazio? And are you sure he is really turning up or is it a case of ''I heard that he said that she said''? If iit really means that much to you then I'd be honest with her. Explain you really like her - and offer an alternative so she knows you're not blowing her out - but state about Lazio man and see what her reaction is.
If I went on a date with a guy and he was giving it the ''I gave up blah di blah for you'' and I wasn't to know that he had the offer to blah di blah it in the first lace, then that would put me off him a bit as it would make him seem a bit childish.

It really annoys me when people do that. I said I'm going to see her and she feels sorry for me missing out. There's no games here. You women are so paranoid! I have been honest and up front with her and she's given me all this aww that's a shame, oh well you get to see me to compensate kind of stuff and I've just been like, oh well at least you understand that I'm sad to miss it and in my book that's even better than making her feel guilty! It means she's a woman that respects me and realises I'm a big kid. There can be no greater qualities than those in a bird. I'm as happy as that Larry chap today! xxx
Not all of us are paranoid you cheeky get!
Trust me, my fella doesn't need an excuse for a night off from me - I will quite happily kick him out the door in favour of some "me" time :-)
But then this early on in the relationship I guess you still like eachother huh? lol
Why not compromise and make her play football with him? PMSL
Have a great weekend whatever you do. Incidentally, what charity do you work for?
