Hi. A " discussion"started between two friends of mine about homosexuality.One said that the gene is in there when you are born and comes out in later years. My other friend who is a retired psychiartry ( spelling) nurse argues that it is all in the mind and as was said earlier not in the genes. I tend to agree with my friend about it being your genes but would appreciate any answers

lofty....many of us are NOT saying we don't like them OR we don't mix with them...we do, but what many men (including myself) say is that we are "uncomfortable" with them.

Have visited many a Gay/Lesbian Bar here and abroad and do not have any problems with that. If I was flaunting myself in these Bars I would have to face the consequences, but it was a social gathering and no more.
What bothers me about Gay men is the Toilet mentality i.e Cottaging

Squad I genuinely believe that men in your age group are more uncomfortable about mixing with gays than younger men. A lot to do with upbringing and attitudes in the 'good' old days. I don't think you are an old fogey though! ;o)

I think rowan and Lofty have gone into the Garden to fetch a big stick to beat us with Squad. If I ever come back in another life I'm going to ask God if I can have the choice of Gay or Hetero.......'I'll make you a Bi instead' :-)

Lofty....as a Senior Registrar, I had a gay(male) who was my theatre nurse and he was bloody good and taught me a lot. When i was appointed consultant, I asked him to come with me to my new hospital to advice them of what instruments I used and to highlight my surgical eccentricities. When I returned home, mrs sqad was quite upset with the thought of the "New Consultant" turning up with a gay theatre nurse.
I soon put their minds at rest though.
