i just really couldn't, i've heard stories of girls using men just to buy them things and i really can't see how they can do that. could you imagine yourself doing it? what would you do if the person you asked said no?

I wouldn't ask for anything either, so the situation wouldn't occur, however, if I did ask my OH for something, I'm he would give it to me if he could, but then I would never ask anyway!...............
No. I don't even like my OH buying me things..
aim small miss small
No, I really couldn't do it! I hate being brought things, and the idea of asking for stuff just seems a little rude to me!
I hate asking for anything of anyone... so realy struggle when i need help with something.

i know, mean too looby. It just amazes me that people have the audacity to do so

For me it usually flags up a warning sign that a girl is maybe a gold digger if it's done early on in a relationship and it often comes hand in hand with high maintenence women anyway, but that's not always the case. If it's a long term partner then I'd hope they wouldn't have to ask, just arrange it for themselves and take it as read that I'll pay for it, I'd be disapointed if they felt they had to ask.
I'd never ask my husband to buy me anything. I'd love it if he at least bought me the odd surprise gift, only something small though, I'd hate it if he went and bought me something rediculously expensive, but I'd never ask.
I think women who use expect men to shower them with expensive gifts are little more than paid prostitutes,

I didn't mean it like *that* Helen, I'm not talking about people like you or I, or most people in fact, who are in a normal relationship. I'm talking about people who, as ooh-la-la says are just using men to get expensive gifts. women like WAGS who sit around on their ass all day waiting for their multimillionaire boyfriend to buy them a Hermes bag or a sports car or something.

ow!! nox that last bit was so so sweet :-) i totally agree with you betty. It's different if your in a relationship and you share roles (raising children doing housework ect) but it 's just so wrong when a person just takes takes takes and doesn't give anything back.
I've really never had a problem with it...

Over the years, girls have asked me to buy things for them. And I've bought them for them. And I've enjoyed their subsequent gratitude...
Question Author
dam boy, surely deep down you must feel a little used?
Subsequent gratitude?
Of course I do! Still struggling to see the problem...
> Subsequent gratitude?

Oh, for heaven's sake, do I need to draw you a picture...?

ow that's so sad, why don't you just say no?
No diagram required Mark, never ask girls, you should deserve it implicitly.
