Onwards and Downwards Continues

The school holidays seem to bring much temptation for those with kids around.

Why not start them off right and give them the healthy snacks you are having and maybe just have one treat a day after dinner.

It is tricky to stop the little tikes sneaking the "good stuff" though.

Here is last months thread

Morning All,
Down a bit this week. We had a lunch party yesterday and I flushed all the nibbles down the loo when the guests left....that is the only thing I can do to make sure I don't eat them. My will power at the moment is about as strong as a piece of well cooked spaghetti.
Onwards and downwards..................
Well done XSTITCHER I have done that too especially with grandsons leftovers but must admit I have listened to the devil at times. I am not weighing this week as I have to see a positive result. Been excellent good in healthy eating this last 5 days but I felt I had gained before that so would rather not know and really rectify it for next week. I feel I have lost so rather than be disheartened I will keep up the good work for next week
Onward and Downwards.
Oh dear, well knowing you Wendilla you will not give up so lets hope next week brings a good result.
Very disappointing. Gone up ½lb, but i've checked my intake from the past week and there is nothing to account for it :-( Fractionally over the daily limit on two days (weekend), on the limit one day, slightly under the other four.
Hi OLD GEEZER it was the week end that has done it lol.
Hi. Were it that easy, but I can't believe it. It was a lower intake weekend than usual. So if that did it then I'm simply not going to lose further, life's too short to be miserable.

Judging by the whole week's total, again I'm down on the week's allowance. Maybe it's one of those inexplicable 'humps', and I'll be shedding pounds each hour any time soon.
Another 1½lbs down for me this week. Must have been all the salads and fruit from last week. Have not really been into it this week so far, but have got a busy weekend planned so hopefully next week will still show a loss too.
Don't give up old Geezer. It could be water retention. I'll bet that you are back on track next week...onwards and downwards as we say, but I do know how frustrating it feels to go up without any apparant reason.
Hi all, I weighed yesterday and had lost 1lb so I'm quite pleased after the last couple of weeks, I did stay within my points allowance all week so I really must stay with it properly. Good luck to all.
Onwards and downwards
Old Geezer I was just reading through your post again and I see that you said that you were down on your weeks allowance. This could be your problem. You have got to keep up your allowance to have a steady loss.
OWLLADY AND JULES well done going the right way Onwards and Downwards.
Aye, it is possible, if unintentional. I keep a rough eye on the amount I'm taking in during the day, but I'm too lazy to work it out accuately until the following morning. It turns out I'm about 7% under the figure I'm aiming for. Which is really weird since I've known times when I just can't work out how to keep it low enough. I guess my near 100% record of a tin of soup for (weekday) lunch, coupled with the swop from fruit juice to the near zero calorie squash (still not that good even today) tends to drop my intake more than I expected. Ham & tomato sandwiches for tea tonight, so I'm unlikely to have my 5 a day (having had chowder for lunch). Perhaps I'll be good and take a glass or two of V8 to go with it.
Our bodies are conditioned to be hunters.
In the lean times, they conserve food/energy in case of future shortages.
This is the principle behind HEALTHY weight loss - eat properly, or you'll go into starvation mode - your metabolism will slow, your ketone level will rise and you'll store fat.
Or so I've been told.
My gage to if I'm properly hungry is : if I fancy something it is usually just whim and the devil on my shoulder but if can think of cooked califlower tasting good then I am honestly hungry and need some food.
That's a good idea xstitcher. I have a feeling that I've gone back over my goal weight as I've been eating a lot of party food recently. Good luck for tomorrow everyone. I still weigh myself every Wednesday and follow this thread for good ideas.
Good Morning All, I have gone down 1 pound this week which is very satisfactory. Hubby is going away for 3 days this week so there is no one to see if I "sin" I had thought of buying a bottle of Coke Cola Zero but after thinking of it for 2 or 3 days realized that I pair coke with many forbidden things so I have shelved that idea. It was screaming SLIPPERY SLOPE.
You are very wise notafish to keep on weighing yourself. I got to this state by not doing so after I stopped smoking.

Onwards and downwards............
Morning all.Well done Xstitcher you must be doing something right. I have not weighed for 2 weeks as I knew I had gained and did not want to know but I have stayed the same so I have rectifyed it .So Onwards and Downwards but will not make a habit of not weighing again as I really have got nowhere.
Been very up & down this week, ending 3 lbs down on an unexpectedly high reading from last Wednesday. So it's rather more flattering than the last few days suggest. Whilst the ups & downs may be water related, I'm sometimes given to wonder why I have such precise scales when they may not have the accuracy that suggests.
I have gone back a pound over my goal weight. Which doesn't sound too bad, but it does take me ages and ages to lose weight. I can put it on really quickly though. Onwards and downwards!
I am down another ¾lb this week. Well done Old Geezer on your loss too.
Morning all,

I've lost another 1lb this week :o)

In total I have now lost 3st 7lb. My initial goal was to lose 3st of post baby weight, which I have acheived, however I am now concentrating on reaching a healthy BMI. My current BMI is 25.3 which, according to online calculators, is still overweight. I'm going to try and get to between 23 and 24. Onwards and downwards.............
