Onwards and Downwards Continues in August

Welcome to August's Onwards and Downwards. Welcome to any and all new members keep up the good work.

Summer holidays are here again and those of you with children or grandchildren at home it can be tricky to keep the snacking down. How do you plan to keep the little ones occupied and out of the pantry?

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

I've lost 2lb this week. Makes up for not losing any the week before. One of my friends at work bought a bag of double choc chip cookies from Sainsbury's yesterday and was offering them around. I said thank you but no thank you. Normally I can't resist a giant warm cookie but I did and I feel quite proud of that :o)

I've now lost 8lbs in 5/6 weeks.

Welcome Smoball :-)
Well done kacee and notafish and wobble on Jan. Gosh we're getting good!!

You're very welcome smowball. What is your goal?
Jan I hope you enjoyed your birthday. For what you have lost you have nothing to worry about as you will take it in hand and get back to it . Notafish don't give up by coming on here helps. .Well done to Kacee and OG you have done well this week.
Welcome Smoball we just try and help one another with ideas and normally put our losses or gains up here on Wednesday or any day if you feel like having a moan. Try and do a weekly shop so as you don't run out of anything and write everything down and over the weeks you will see where you might be going wrong. How much weight would you like to lose? We have been here for 18 months lose some people and gain some but lots keep coming back to us as they found it helped. I have a glass of unsweetened grapefruit juice every morning this helps to break fat up but if you are on medication you will have to check as it is not allowed with some.
Welcome Snowball! This place has really helped me. The thought of reporting back each week helps keep you on your toes and everyone is so supportive and helpful. Nothing judgemental at all. I am pleased to say I have lost 1lb this week. Feeling quite proud of myself since I baked loads of buns and scones for a charity do on saturday and managed to get through the day just eating one or two.
Well done OG, Wendilla and Kacee and at least you haven't gained xStitcher. Notafish and Jan, at least you can keep each other company on the naughty stool and I am sure yiu will have better news to report next week.
Thanks everyone, I won't give up. Well done Spotit!
What a happy little group we are this week.....you know that is half the battle knowing that we are here for each other and you don't want to let us down DO YOU ha ha.....
Hi everyone, better late than never again. I did weigh this morning but no time to post my 1lb loss before having to leave for work.

I'm much close now to having lost my second stone (just 3lbs to go) since starting here in the spring and although 1lb a week can feel like slow going, I know its in the right direction at least.

Well done everyone else who's lost this week, especially pleasing to have managed it with a Bank Holiday in the mix. "Keep at to" those of you who haven't. Look forward to meeting your lighter self this time next week!
^^ "Keep at it" ^^
Well done, Maidup!
Wow - loving it guys! well done all!

2lb loss for me this week - just 1lb off my first half stone which is really inspiring as once i get a milestone under my belt, i'll have more determination and confidence that it can be done. Well done everyone xxxx
....and well done you nini74. Half a stone lighter will be such an acheivement.
After 10 days away in Devon eating out every day and not in my usual routine, I am pleased to have gained only 1lb. Well done to all losers, and hopefully I will be on the downward trend again next week.
Another half pound loss at SW last night. But more importantly, just found that I can now get into my favourite summer skirt. Whoopeee!!!!! A shame there's not really any summer to enjoy it, but I'm still pleased.
Being able to fit clothes that have been put in the back of the wardrobe is heavenly.
I can confirm that. When I put on weight I was able to retrieve all my 'fat clothes' and wear them once again.
There is that, I suppose, OG. I wonder how many of us have both sets of fat clothes and thin clothes? I certainly do, and don't want to get rid of either - just in case.

Here is a good recipe. I put the broccoli in at the very end to keep it from turning to mush. You can use any veg you happened to have....
Well done KIKI NINI and Maidup and yes maidup it seems a long way off when you first start but with persiverance you get there . I had a wake up call so getting there again. Sheemamf you will be back on trak for next week with a loss.
I felt I had all new clothes when I got the back of my wardrobe out and that is why I have to stay there now as the old ones will be getting out of fashion lol lol.
I'm sure its no co-incidence Wendilla, that the weeks when I lose weight are the weeks when I've remembered to buy and drink fresh grapefruit juice.
Thanks once again for the tip.
What sort of grapefruit juice do you all buy? I get really confused when I look at all the different ones and some seem to contain sugar even though they say pure grapefruit juice. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
