Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
As Christmas is almost upon us I thought we could have some festive yet healthy cocktail suggestions. Here are but a few I have found:
Well done Jomlett, wendilla and Maydup. Have you noticed that it is a long time since we have had the naughty step out? This proves that we have successfully intergrated our new eating habits into our lives which is quite a feat! You should all be VERY proud of yourselves!!!
Jomlette like the rest of us you know you can do it as you have achieved so much . Enjoy it is the over indulging that is the problem but we must have that extra treats in moderation . Merry Xmas and a Happy new year .
Thanks Xstitcher for giving us a couple of weeks off the scales. It's a good plan, as we don't want to beat ourselves up over Christmas. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!
Not yet xmas eve and a box of McVities Family Circle (10 biscuit varieties to enjoy...!) has just been hand delivered and is rapidly re-wrapped for presentation to my next visitor!
The shops have pears now but they don't have much taste so try grating dried ginger over them...delicious.......grated nutmeg is also good on oranges and grapefruit. I gave myself a mini grater from eBay
I hope it works for you......what if you decided to mix them......a small bowl of cinnamon apple and one chocolate??????? Pls keep in mind this is written by a non lover of chocolate.
This is good on ginger pears, all stir fries and almost everything else.
GOMASHIO
1.5 Tablespoons of Sea Salt
200g plain Sesame Seeds
Toast and stir the salt in a frying pan until it turns a slight grey colour. Tip into a grinder/food processor or pestle and mortar and grind.
Toast the sesame seeds until they smell fragrant and have taken on a bit of colour. Add to the salt and grind together. The mixture should be be broken down but not too smooth.
My first low carb xmas was resounding success! No roast potatoes, xmas pud or mince pies meant another kilo bites the dust! Very close to 79k and a smidgen off 24 BMI I welcome a new thinner year!
It's easy for a singleton to change meals to a low carb diet but when making meals for others, it must be very difficult for anyone to separate their diet from the norm. Now if ALL the family had a weight problem...
Well done to you jomlette for resisting the goodies . My scales were made redundant for 2 weeks but I have not over indulged but have had a few goodies . Nearly back to normal now .
Well done Jomlett you really are a shining star. Although I have not reached the BMI that I want as yet I'm slowly creeping nearer so I know how you feel.
One of the most helpful aids to loosing is positive thinking and you sound like you have that in bucket loads! I smile every time I read one of your posts.
