how do i get hold of a certian death certificate
that wasnt handed to me from 6 years ago
i was the only person at that funeral
and the one social services rang for details
which i gave but i didnt see no death certificate
so were would that be now and how do i get a copy

You go to the local Registry Office and give the following information:

Full names and surname of deceased
Date of death
Place of death i.e. name of hospital or address where death occurred
Age of deceased

It costs around �7. You may be able to do it online. What council is it?

You don't even need to visit the local register office. If you know the details Ethel provided (indeed, I think you only need full name, date of death and rough place), you can write to the Superintendant Registrar in the area where death occurred and they will provide a copy for the aforementioned fee.

Ethel has (as always) provided an excellent answer. The register office for the area in which the death occurred would be the best place to ask. However, your local register office (if different) should also be able to help.

but i used o live with him for 10 years ethel
fr0m 1984 to 1994

then left but always contacted me via letter or phone
for 6 years 2000 then died but i was the only one at his funeral so were did his death cert go

frm the hospice he was only there 2 days max
and i had to go view his body
and every thing went hay wire from there

Hi Monty! Hope you get what you want hun - and hope you don't mind if I use your thread to ask Chris, Ethel or anyone else who seriously might know, if they can help my sister's friend out.
She got married in 1970, and left her husband within a few months. Her Decree Absolute came through in 1975 time, but she's lost all reference to the marriage and divorce papers, and can't even remember the exact date of getting married, although she knows the register office where they went to. Now she needs these papers, and doesn't know where to begin to obtain copies. What should she do?

Ice - she should contact the registry office in person with as much information as she can remember, and maybe take proof of id.

Chico, yes, you are entitled to a copy of the death certificate

Ice, if she can remember the Court where she got divorced, she should phone the Court Office. They can normally provide divorce papers for a fee of �25 I think.
