If you wanted to transfer money from a nationwide account to a natwest current account, can this be done online, or even going into natwest, or would you have to go into nationwide and do it from there?

If you have on line banking with nationwide then yes.

You would have to unstrcuct the bank the payment is leaving from to make the payment, as with making a payment to anywhere else.. So that would be in the Nationwide branch, or online if you bank that way already.
