Hello,

Is an old 50p still accepted by retailers?

If not, will the banks still accept it?

I ask the same question with regard to a damaged £5 polymer note of which I have half?

a bank may take the coin - you need an account

the five pound note- you need all the bits
amd the bank will replay

Coins are the responsibility of the Royal Mint not the Bank, it is up to each individual Bank if the will accept them but you will have to use your own Bank.

What do you mean by 'an old 50p'? Surely all 50ps are still in circulation?

The old larger 50p was withdrawn in February 1998
