funding for charities

As secretary for our local gingerbread (for single parents) we have run into some financial difficulties we can get funding for trips and events, toys etc.our problem is we are finding it hard to get funding for running costs, rent, wages for creche workers etc. I am wondering if anyone can offer me advice about available resources to apply.

would the lottery help, have you tried them?

does your mayor have any funs for worthwhile charities?

what about Citizens Advice Bureau?
