Standard Life Windfall

Just wondering if my ex is playing silly devil. We've had a joint with profits policy for 14 years and it has come into the divorce settlement he has shown me a copy of the amount of shares we've been allocated and told me that their worth is low. I didn't think their value per share has announced yet and wouldn't be until they float Am i right or wrong for thinking this ?

You are right that the exact value hasn't been set yet, and I also read in the paper today that because of world markets, the value might be lower than anticipated. I THINK I was allocated 440 shares, and at the higher option I stood to get 1,300, but I do know that it was over 1,000 - hardly low. Surely though, if it was a joint policy, you should be informed by them in your own right?
I read a report in the press yesterday that because of the current volatile state of the stock market the initial float price of the shares could be 10% lower than originally forecast. They had originally forecast a range of 240p - 290p per share but this now seems to be 220p - 260p. Also any shares issued will be granted to the first named individual on the policy. The speculation is that Standard Life could be subject to a takeover bid once it has floated, which could cause the value of the shares to rise.
