A strange question

We often buy documents from Companies House about our main competitors. There is a long history between our director and there's and they've never gotten along. So a few months ago we heard that their director had commited suicide and one person (a customer of both of ours) we know of has been to his funeral. Anyway, upon ordering the newer up to date documents we can see that he is still on there as director but that he has now has even more shares than he had before, all with his signature !
We thought this was odd so called the register office and crematorium and they have no records of anyone by that name. Isn't that odd? What does that mean ? We're just very curious about what they might be up to!
Thanks in advance for any ideas, c~s

I dont understand why you dont just ring the company in question and ask to speak to him...that should give you an idea as to whether he is alive or not.
If he is dead then I suspect the companies accountants may be doing something a bit dodgy with their accounts..unless of course the shares have been awarded to the man in question to be then passed on to his widow/estate!!!!

Can you get hold of a copy of their latest company accounts and find out who the auditors are. Then you can field your questions to the auditors and see what interesting answers they come up with. The latest documents you have in your possession may, of course, have been filed with Comapnies House before the suicide took place.
