If I pay money each month to a bank as repayment of a debt, can that bank refuse to provide me with a receipt for each monthly amount it has received from me?

I can see why they wouldn't post one, but if you pay cash over the counter they will surely stamp your payment card. And if you pay by cheque you have a record.
If you use a paying in book or a counter paying in slip, the counterfoil is your receipt. If you are paying the sum by direct debit/standing order, your bank statement will show the transaction and you could use a copy of it.
