My daughter was 21 on Friday and had planned this huge party with loads of guests, which I had to cater for, which I did.  She turned up looking like a Hollywood superstar at a film premiere but was completely paralytic and passed out at 11pm.  Have I brought her up properly?

Oh dear, I remember when i got paralytic at my 18 birthday party..Mainly because my mum hadn't bothered 2 turn up.. I dont think its that you didn't bring her up properly but more to do with excitement & the time she spent getting ready so she would look like a film star meant that maybe she didn't get enough food in her tum i'm sure she's feeling very regretful & these lessons are always best learnt sooner rather than later..

Thanks for the consoling words, at least I have her on the camcorder totally off her face, something to show the grandchildren!
Ha ha but i think that kind of threat may be enough to stop her giving you any grandchildren..Has she recovered yet or is she 1 of those jammy so n so's that dont suffer.?

Oh no that happens all the time, it is really cool, you can flip to any catagory, I tend to go in and check out the questions and if the answers are too serious I I can't resist giving a flip reply, it is like being at school!

Try some other section and I will find you there, go on, see how long it takes me to catch up with you!

Ok your on but bear with me i'm new 2 this but i'll give it a go..

If its amy consolation, my mum and dad put on a great 21st for me and I too got 'off my face' but out did your daughter by 30 mins!  But Iove them to bits and since then have done the proud!

Oh and had a daughter who will probably do the same to me! LOL

modt 21 year olds will do that.... i'm 21 in feb and although i say i wont i bet i will

Personally, I thought you have brought her up properly.

You have given her the freedom to enjoy herself and the self confidence to do what she wants without worrying about what other people think. Well done.

Greenbhoy, thanks for the kind words, she certainly has plenty of confidence in herself, when I told her she looked stunning she said, "Yeah I do don't I" and had a big grin on her face, I don't think she was being bigheaded, I think she was just surprised at how good she looked in a dress rather than jeans and a T shirt!

Dothawkes, you're welcome.

Although my attitude may change when my 7 year old daughter turns 21 and gets as drunk as a drunk thing.........but as I said to the wife, she wouldn't be doing anything that we haven't done in our early days (and some of us only a couple of weeks ago).

I can relate to being paralytic at parties, its something to do with youth, where you don't realise you need to help your parents. She'll probably realise in time and be more proactive.
