My 2 year old neice was chatting to me the other day and called a snowman a mak-mak, i was intrigued as to where she had got the word from until my sister told me that mak-mak is the word she calls a duck (obviously meaning quack quack). Bless her heart, I suppose a round fat white snowman with an orange carrot nose sort of does look like a giant duck. I dont think I will ever call a snowman a snowman again :)
ahh thats so cute pixi. my nephew who is 12 is into golf at the moment, my daughter (whos nearly 3) likes to play it with him but she calls it... wait for it.... mango! and Pinocchio has been renamed pinocino in our home.
lol thanx pixi.my youngest is 6,from when she was a baby she cuddle her pram blanket you know the ones with silk round the edge, when she was about 2 she called it her baylink,
AAAAWWW that's soooo cute, you realise that from now on they will be called mak-mak's in this house too? lol. My boy used to shout it supermarkets the people had to buy free range eggs and not ones from those "battered chickens!" He also used to call our wee cd player "sleepy" cause it looked like it had a sleepy face on it! My sister and I called it sleepy all the time. lol
I used to mind a little boy in my summer hols when I was a student. He called helicopters "gigops" and cucumber was "agolo" (we think it was because his nan once said it gave her indigestion agony).
When my nephew was a wee boy, he couldn't prounounce Lasagne properly - he called it Masambria! That was over 18 years ago and the whole family call it that to this day! He was the same when saying Spaghetti, he called it Biscobay. What a poppet! x
Hi pixi - one of my little darlings decided to make two mak-maks - making it very obvious that one was male & one female! Good job they were in the back garden - oh forgot to mention he was 18 at the time lol!!
My Daughter who is now nearly eight used to call a radiator a radiotater which kept my wife and I highly amused. My son who is 4.5yr and has just started in the early years dept calls his head teacher Barginty but her name is Mrs Maginty. We appologized to her but she said she has been called worse.
when we were kids we had a neighbour called Mrs Maloye, my older brother called her Mrs Malolly acuse he couldnt say it. She used to send my parents christmas cards, and put one in for us kids signed Mrs Malolly and enclose some lollypops!
