My 2 year old is very keen to sit on the toilet, but is not yet fully potty trained, should I be encouraging her to use the toilet or concentrate on the potty

Let her go straight to the toilet if she will - that's the end result you are looking for, so it's pointless going through the potty stage if she can skip it. Girls do train faster than boys as a rule, so encourage her all you can.
totally agree with Andy, just go straight for the loo if she's happy with that. there are a few at Mothers and Toddlers here who are just the same. My wee guy is 2 and a wee bit, and does not like his potty, but he will happily sit on his toilet seat (a wee insert that he can sit on on his own, without falling down the pan!). Good luck.
We never used potty's for any of our kids , just took them straight to the loo, it work's like a charm.
I agree, dont think my son ever pooed in a potty. Thank christ!!
