My partner took the little one out to see his relatives at about 5pm, he returned at 6.30 and baby was asleep, he's still asleep now and well due a feed and change. Should I wake him or wait until he wakes up?
..............and I think this website is a useful place to get answers. A lot of health visitors aren't parents and theory does not replace practice and experience!
Give Zac a break - it is unpleasant and rude to criticize someone who is only trying to help someone who asked for help. His advice was perfectly reasonable and I don't understand why all the nasty comments are flying about.
Velvetee, calm down love, don't be getting yourself worked up! sara & JD gave you the best sound advice, that's all you need to read.
I am sure that you are a very good mother, if you didn't care, then you would not ask - - - - - - - and never worry about asking any question even if others say it's daft or whatever! We are not ALL the brains of Britian like some you are on here.

If youre unsure of taking care of your baby id advise you to speak to your health visitor about this and any other parenting issues /dilemmas you may have.
Asking on a website isnt the best idea.
Now you idiot if you can point out anything there that suggests im either
" you're useless and have nothing of interest to say to me,"
or
"" you poor excuse for a man. "
It would appear the only person here whos stupid is you.
Dont seek advice i you obviously dont want it.You really do have an attitude problem and if you think men are useless with children then why did you let a man ( your partner) take the baby away for an hour and a half?
You really are out of order on this.
AND YOU WILL STILL HAVE TO DO WHAT I ADVISED YOU AND SEE YOUR HEALTH VISITOR ABOUT THIS AND ANY OTHER PROBLEMS.
SO IT WOULD SEEM I AM CORRECT.SO THAT WOULD MAKE YOU THE IDIOT NOT ME.
Thanks for your lack of interest , your bitchy attitude , and your msogynistic attitude towards men and their parenting abilities.
The advice given by zac-tho from a male point of view-was definitely valid..and equal to any given by all the female posters. Many men are equally experianced as their partners...and to treat his views as of less value is not on. HE has more experiance than you do at this stage.
Zac........please back off...she is a new mother........no doubt you can remember the first time you brought your wean home...
Problem I think is that, with respect, because you act the @rse of chatterbank that you're not taken seriously on other threads....which is incorrect....you have in my opinion offered very sound advice to me and others in the past. XX
Thanks infomaniac. And quite frankly im surprised at the fact most other posters ignore the fact i geve sound solid advice. And also the insults from velvetee were both stupid and insulting. If i was a sinsulting as her i could have questioned her parenting ability , but as im not as ignorant as her , i did not , i gave sound solid advice and was abused for it.
razzle im not on chatterbank.how dare anyone adoopt her insulting attitude .
and anyone backing her up you know reading what i said that i am totally correct 100% and i said absolutely nothing wrong or arsey
razszer even for you to say that was quite insulting.
i wouldnt post crap in here its a serious section and you obviously dont know me to even think that nevrmind suggest it.
as a new mum her best advice is from a health visitor and i stand by that.
and i am correct.
and i was trying to be helpful.
and i do think the attitude of some of the women on this thread is blatantly sexist because im a guy i dont know??
Zac....wer're arguing from the same position and you know it is not my intention to insult you.....you know that I value your opinion..........so I'm quite happy to back down!
are you questioning my ability as a father? no
this isnt chatterbank so save your cheap digs for there
i will not resort to arguing with you here. Calm down..........
my advice was solid and sound yes
jack the hat was i wrong? no..................except for the bit where you made an incorrect reference to 'misogyny' which in this situation would be ' misandry'
in your personal opinion? I have been happy to correct you
i think zack meant well with his advice and gave the correct advice actually but its just the way he puts things across, he can come across as harsh but i dont think he deserved the insults he got from the poster tbh.
as for his parenting skills, im sure after raising three kids of his own then he is more than adequate to be giving out advice.
