When my first son was born, we ended up trawling through the graduations lists in the paper. We ended up with Craig but was a close run with Gregor. Others on the list were Alex, Walker, Kerr & Grant ( I like the name Struan but OH hated it!). We also nearly called him Blaven after the mountain in Skye.
My second son didn't have a name for a week and a half. We settled on Ciar, My husband liked Ciaran, I still liked Kerr so we compromised. Others on the list were Archie, Joseph & Austin. He did nearly end up called Cairn as we were sticking a pin is a map looking for inspiration and as we live in scotland, where there are loads on mountains we kept on hitting Cairns.
Is there some family name that you would consider?
Good luck with it and let us know what you settle on.

sherrardk - hi yeah, that was me. i was looking for your post to let you know but couldn't find it. we got back on friday so in total we spent 6 days away from home
we went down and stayed in the red cross for two nights then i got taken in on monday and flew home on friday
the whole experience from being told when it was going to happen to it happening was amazing compared to my daughters birth.
everything was so organised and calm and even joked at the song on the radio as I was getting prepared 'Final Countdown'.
i have a very neat scar and i'm in less pain now after a c-section than a forceps/ventouse delivery. i was walking about by the 2nd day. so impressed with it and i know i had my doubts but it was definately the right choice for me.
once i got to the mainland i would've been sent away anyway as the baby kept moving from back to back to transvers so it would've been a section whatever

i like the name gregor. that was on my list but my boyfriend doesn't like it. we just cant agree
i like my brothers name but a friend just called her son that and they'd be in the same class and the OH doesn't like it. if we named him after my dad he's have one of those names where first and second name are similar like donald mcdonald.

joannie - I have been waiting for someone to name their child in text speak and that's what the name Leighton always reminds me of. L8on. maybe carron could try that and see if the registrars let her!
I like Logan and also Callan and Cian. My neices boys are Oscar and Caleb if you are looking for something a bit more unusual. Others in our area are Theo, Hayden, Reece, Jamie, Cameron, Connor, Callum, Owen, Ewan, Nathan and Ethan.
