If you wait until you have the money to have a child then you will never have one as one is never really in the financial position to have one. I have had three children in a country where there are no benefits, no free medical care, no help or free advice and no free schooling. Although my children were not brought up with name brands etc... I managed and now they are all grown up, well adjusted adults any parent would be proud to have.
I did at least wait until I was out of my teens though! They brought me much joy and many worries as children do but I would not change anything one bit.

I agree with both daffi and sukkie. If your giving up a dog (don't even get me started on that) because you don't have the room (surely you realised that when you got the dog) or money then a baby is going to be a massive financial blow for about 18 years!!
It's like sukkie says though, if you wait untill you can afford it you'll probably wait forever! My partner and I both work, have a large mortgage, own 2 dogs and neither of us have ever claimed benefits and are really hoping we never have to. We struggle like most people but both of us are ready to be parents and I think thats important.
Think about it carefully lilminxlou.

daffi- im not being rude but i said i want 1, as im still in college and not ready yet it doesnt mean i will have 1 but theres nothing wrong with thinking it is there? oh and btw we are in a financial position to look after a puppy just not to move house. i wish u had read properly as that was a bit harsh.
that applies to the trest of you as well, we did have the room for the dog and i am distraught that we had to get rid of him but we did it in the right way. i just want to know what its like to thnk that there is a lifeform inside you, that you can feel it hiccupping and kicking and the unity of having a family.
why would you say you want to be pregnant? Its not all fun and games you know!
motherhood can be tough, if there are any strains in your relationships then a baby can make these hundred time worse, money troubles being one of the main problems.
Get through college, get a career and then think about perhaps planning a family. At least then youll have a job to go back to.
I just find the whole 'i really want to be pregnant' and ' how amazing......' bit a tad naive and childish Im afraid.

mountainboo- there are about 10 ppl in my year group that have had babies (not including me) so in all fairness i think its fair to say i have thought carefully about it hence me not being pregnant lol. and im sorry but i find u all a bit harsh as we did have the room for him but a si said he would be better off having fields to run around in which is something a child prob wnt need. and as for not getting u started about getting rid of the dog its not as if it was ourchoice, i used to love answerbank but find u all quite judging and i am very upset as u have taken things out of context and havent got the full story.
I used to think like you all the time lil when i was at college, I fell pregnant at 18 and it was amazing & we have abeautiful 4 yr old girl now, but please wait till you've at least finished college, i've done a degree since having my little girl but it's been bloody hard work & i used to look at all my mates at uni & although i love my daughter & hubby to bits and wouldnt change anything i did used to envy them-loadsa time to do their work , i had to do mine when little one had gone to bed, they had days off for hangovers i had them cuz she was ill or playing up and i guess i'm a little sad that i never got to experience the whole student social life thing, having kids is definatley worth doing, but please wait till the time is right!
Oh and with regards to money when i fell pregnant my hubby rang his brother ( who has 2 kids) & said that we we're worried about money & he said that how ever much you have it's never enough & it's so true, but at least if you have an education you can get a good job & be able to give your kids that bit more than we could for the first 3 yrs of our daughters life

Wow yeah i still look at my daughter & i'm amazed by her every single day, she's such a mix of me & her dad, my eyes, dads lips, it's lovely i'm sooo broody for another but i know the time isnt right i want to get my career off the ground & be a bit more settled in our new house (which'd be a bit small for a new baby anyway!) I actually felt an aching, longing for a baby when i was younger, so i know how you feel & you will do whatever feels right for you, but looking back if i could do it all again & have exactly the same daughter i wouldve waited a couple of years
