Is it stupid that I want to get pregnant to try and curb my Anorexia?
Is it even possible when I haven't had a period since May?

I doubt very much you would even be able to fall pregnant whilst being anorexic and you would certainly be putting the health of your unborn baby at risk if you did fall pregnant before getting better.
If you are serious about wanting to combat the anorexia, please go and get help from your doctor, dont try and get pregnant, its not a cure.

Im with psychick on this.
Please sort out your own health and the reasons behind your anorexia before even considering bringing another life into the world that will depend on your for everything.
Getting pregnant to cure yourself is also a very selfish thing to do, what if you couldnt beat the anorexia? What if once you had baby its 'task' was complete and it was unwanted? What if you bad eating habits caused untold problems with the baby? Could you cope with a possible miscarriage? a premature baby? A baby with a disability?
As psychick has said, please speak to your GP or counsellor for help in beating your anorexia before even contemplating pregnancy and motherhood.

I just think that if I got pregnant I'd have to eat properly. I'm not selfish enough to harm a baby...
Or maybe I am for considering it...?
I know it's ****** up, but people have done it for worse reasons, right? I've tried recovery the conventional way, and it's left me where I am now... fat and helpless :/

why would you eat properly for a baby and not for your own wellbeing?
Yes, people have got pregnant for many unthoughtout reasons, often resulting in unwanted children or unhappy parents, this doesnt mean that everyone should try it.
The fact tht you are still beleiving yourself to be fat and helpless means that you really arent in a state to be thinking of getting pregnant. pregnancy is very very hard on a womans body, it removes many of the mothers own stores of minerals, calcium and fat and really really would not be good for either the mother or baby.
As i said, how wold you cope with losing a baby by miscarriage or a later loss? How would you cope with a disabled child knowing that youd got pregnant to try and cure yourself?
You must obviously be in a fragile state because of the anorexia and its cause but please dont continue down this train of thought.
How about thinking of it as your goal when you are better and have beaten the illness yourself?

but this baby would be inside yourself, and you wont know how youll react to that until such time as youll be pregnant and it could be too late then.
I dont hate you, how could I, youre looking for a way out of your problems. I just hope that you can understand the points psychick and i are trying to get across and are taking it seriously.
Please tell your counsellor what you have been thinking about. I have never heard of pregnancy being suggested as a cure for anorexia and Im sure they can give you more of an idea of why this wouldnt be advised,

If you want a baby at all ever, you are currently damaging your chances of that happening by starving yourself anyway as this seriously affects your ovaries and ovulation, and fertility. So if you arn't yet motivated enough to change for yourself think about any future expecting grandparents, aunts, uncles, or that perfect man who wants to have a family with you. That may tip the balance enough to get you fit enough to think about yourself, cos ultimately you are gonna need to. Very Good luck.
You have a very severe illness my love, and going by a friend of mine who's in the same position, I know it's going to be a long haul for you to get well. I'm afraid the other replies are right, and if you managed to get pregnant at all, your baby could suffer all sorts of things wrong with it. You also need to be mentally fit yourself, to care for a baby properly. As Redcrx says, why not set that as a goal for yourself, once you're well again? I'd say go back to your doctor and/or counsellor, and set yourself a "must have to eat" chart for each day. I hope you get better and then get your wish, but make sure it's for the right reasons. Best of luck to you.
