Paedophile
46 Answers
This is a straightforward question, I simply want to know what as many people as possible think.
If you had a daughter, sister, grand-daughter who already had small children and then invited a paedophile into their home, what would you think? Would you approve or object? And if you objected, what would you do about it if anything?

I would have no hesitation in reporting the incident to the authorities as long as i knew my facts were correct.
I would also take a more direct action with the person to make sure they were aware of my strong objections.

How do you know he's a paedophile? If he's been convicted then surely he's on the sex offenders register and can't have contact with children?
If that's the case, I would personally contact the police.
I would question a mother's sanity or ability to be a fit mother if they had a known paedophile around their children.

Are you saying a known paedophile or is it your assumption that the person is a paedophile ? I ask this question because I am at a loss to understand how anyone in their right mind would invite a known paedophile into a house where there are children ( unless of course the person doing the inviting is also a paedophile ).

How are people know, that the problem!!
only a few weeks ago, my Daughter had a visit from "child Protection" they informed her that one of the couple that was baby sitting her 5 month old Daughter was a convicted paedophile and asked lots of questions, he has now been arrested for breaking bale conditions etc. The guy was a partner of her trusted friend, she also had no idea her partner was a convicted paedophile. it was all very upsetting for all concerned, fortunately he was never alone with my granddaughter and no harm done!!

Thank you all for your answers and in response to some of your questions I am adding the following.
However I must point out that I cannot provide information that will allow this individual to be identified, believe it or not, that is against the law!
This convicted paedophile is on the register and is being 'monitored' by the social services department and the police (whatever that amounts to!).
It concerns her home not ours and there are restrictions, though I cant see how they can be enforced.
I do agree, how can anyone be in their right mind to let such a situation occur? However we are not in a position to 'allow' anything or lecture anyone.
So now you know a little more, what do you think now?
