Don't enjoy McDonald's? I thought you were there for 5 years and found your colleagues very supportive?

Question Author

I was but got fed up they work you to hard and underpay you mainly it's a kids job

... and yet you stayed with the company for five years?....

Question Author

Because I did like at the time but friends left then going back years later found it to stressful.

I know someone who works at McDonalds, Abbey, and she told me that, after three years of a member of staff working there, the company provide free private insurance and various other perks - was that not an incentive to stay or were your 5 years split?

Question Author

Yes that it and no

So you're saying you spent 5 consecutive years at McDonald's?

Abbey, you say that you want full-time work - that's right isn't it?

If so, then tell your various agencies that that is what you want and do not consider any more part-time jobs. It may take  a while.  A veterinary assistant may suit you - not dealing with drugs obviously, but nursing and cleaning.  You could leave your details with  local vets..   Just an idea.

But I'm serious that if you are serious about a full-time job.... just apply for them.

Question Author

I'm going to a job fair tomorrow

Please do you have an answer to my 21.51 Abbey?  Is the Job Fair in the evening or do you take a day off from laundry work?

Question Author

Because it was good as my friend worked there but left so it wasn't fun anymore. Day off.

Abbey you cannot leave jobs because its not 'fun' anymore.

I appreciate that it seems hard after your friend left but that is life, you need to move on and get on.

You have bills to pay and a life to build.  Work hard in the job you have and build up life skills then look for another job.

Question Author

This was years ago i also didn't feel appreciated anymore

Abbey, was your work then worthy of being appreciated? I ask only because you didn't make a positive impression on the care home, nor in the cleaning firm. Have you given up trying to make a good impression, given up trying to show that you are an employee worth keeping?

With the greatest of respect how did you want to be appreciated? Mcdonalds has a very good recruitment and benefits reputation - its hard work but the opportunities are there.

wouldnt everyone in the world want a job that was fun, surrounded by their friends, and not particularly hard work, where their bosses loved them?

Question Author

Mcdonalds don't care about thier staff

Question Author

No I did try to impress in care home

and other employers do?  how's that working out for you?

did dentist, B+M, care home and laundry care about anything other than putting "bums on seats" that could get the job done?

I read somewhere you were going to a Job Fair today - what was it like?  Did you enquire about any jobs?
