Father in-laws 60th Birthday

Hi there, its my Father in lawas 60th in a week and i am a bit stuck on what to get him, he is really into birds, lives on his own, and likes to cook...

Any ideas? all welcome!

What about a bird book, nesting box, pair of binoculars or is there somewhere near that does cookery lessons, you know, you cook, you eat that sort of thing, it is my 60th this May and what I would like is.........

Unless the're not the kind of birds you mean and in that case a subscription to Nuts mag.

Why don't you just ask him for suggestions? He might be absolutely desperate for something but wouldn;t buy for himself (luxury item etc). There are loads of Bird Magazines you can get a subscription to - him indoors got "Birding World" for Christmas and loves it!

get him a slow cooker and a recipe book , then he can be out bird watching and his tea will be ready when he comes back

Thank you very much for your answers i am going to have a good think about what he might like. i dont think magazine subscription would go down well, i know he has quite a gew of those already and no time to read them, he likes to keep busy!

I agree with Brenda, a slow cooker. I was given one for Xmas and dont know how I managed without one before, and Im 65.

Does he have a bird table? If not, a bird table with a selection of bird seed and bird food might give him some pleasure.
