Does anyone know a recipe for the white custard that they used to serve in schools.
I havent had it since primary school, and have never forgotten its creamy taste..

You could try this cornflower based recipe.
Traditional Sweet White Sauce
Ingredients
300 ml of milk
28g butter or margarine
20g cornflour
1 teaspoon of sugar
Method
(1) Melt the butter or margarine into a saucepan. Remove from heat and blend in the cornflour.
(2) Stir in the milk gradually, and add the sugar.
(3) Bring to the boil and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
(4) Add seasonal spirits to taste (Rum, Whisky etc.) if required, depending on the occassion.
