Help! Menu Quandry
12 Answers
I have to confirm a menu choice for a do asap and am in a bit of a quandry as to the main course.
There is a lamb choice which looks lovely (not so keen on risotto which is in the other two) but, when I was talking to someone about the menu they said that lamb is usually served pink.
I'm really not a fan of raw meat and don't think I could eat it if it wasn't cooked (I'd actually prefer it to be a bit burnt than that - I'm a well done steak girl) and would feel rude leaving it as it's been paid for.
I don't want to apear fussy by asking the host (and she has enough on her plate) and there is no menu guide on the hotel website so last resort is to try ringing the hotel but seems a bit OTT and I really don't want to make any fuss.
Is it likely to be on the raw/rare side?

Pink it is then. I'd always be polite, just not sure I'd get the opportunity to ask as it's a wedding reception so I assume they will just bring out the dishes and distribute. Maybe I can just grab someone at the venue and see if they can leave one in a bit longer :) If it's not raw I might be ok though. It will be more cooked on the outside won't it? I could leave the middle.
True Ummm :) It threw me a bit as don't tend to eat lamb out (unless it's a kebab or in a curry!), if it was steak I'd just specify well done. I've had a closer look and it's a roast saddle stuffed with spinach and herbs. I imagine a little portion with it being a hotel wedding.
I'm meant to be on a low sodium diet and risotto out is usually packed full of salt (or tastes like it) and I'm not keen on the gloopiness so trying to avoid if possible.
I might just go with it, just wouldn't want to appear rude by not eating something paid for or try and engineer myself next to a handy man who would welcome an extra portion if all else fails :)
