Simple Recipe Ideas
33 Answers
I need some help.
I now fend for myself and I'm not sure how long I will survive on eating chicken or tuna sandwiches for dinner.
I need some simple recipe ideas. The problem is I am ultra fussy! It's pretty much just textures of foods I have a problem with, for example I like the taste of mushrooms but I can't stand the feel of eating one, it makes me want to throw up. On the plus side, I don have a hand blender. :)
I don't have a freezer so anyting I make has to be from fridge/cupboard stuffs and leftovers that don't need freezing.
Any ideas? My Dad will ask me soon what I've been eating and he always knows when I'm lying :)

Boil what ever pasta you fancy. While boiling grate a load of cheese and thinly slice a few slices of ham. When pasta is cooked stir in knob of butter, then slowly add the grated cheese and the ham, stirring it all in together. takes ten mins tops and is delicious!

I've never warmed to Delia Smith...maybe she does not come across as some one who loves her food.
My choice for a cook book would be Nigel Slater's "Real Fast Food"...nothing too complicated-all could be done in 30 minutes. Some are simple-like his variations on grilled chicken and the sandwiches you can make. Others are a bit more complicated, like my fav-Mozzarella Chicken with Pesto Gravy...but still very quick to do.

I would also recommend you get a freezer if at all possible-even second hand. It will-at the very least-allow you to take advantage of good prices on meat and poultry.
