I don't even go through a pint a week, but need it in for tea/coffees but most of it gets thrown away. I was thinking of freezing it in an ice cube tray for when needed?
I often freeze the whole container of skimmed milk if there is some left and we are going away, let it defrost in the fridge and it is fine. Never tried it ice cube size but worth a try. Not tried it using anything other than skimmed milk.
You can freeze any kind of milk if its in a plastic bottle, but if it's full fat then you need to empty a little out of the bottle before freezing as the cream expands and pushes the lid off. You also need to give the bottle a good shake once it's defrosted.
Yes but it will start to look a little yellow when frozen - don't worry about that it'll be fine when thawed.
Leave some room for expansion if the plastic bottle is full to the rim.
Don't freeze, thaw and then refreeze dairy food.
