i have made a curry and put far to much curry powder in it very hot so i have put natural yougert in it and coconut milk is this ok

I myself asked much the same question here about a year and a half ago. For the replies I received then, as to how to "deheat" a curry, click here You may find them useful in future.

pell some potatoes, put in the curry and leave until cooked, my mum leaves them in, but i take them out when cooked, the potatoees cool it down

In addition to the two excellent answers already offered....

My mum always used to make curry for the 3 of us, serve hers and dads, then stir milk into it for me.  That worked and I never died or had food poisoning.  If it tastes good - eat it!  Your method certainly doesn't sound like it involves any health risks. 

Stick a bogroll in the fridge.
You should never put curry powder in a curry.
