there will be a choice between my sisters' prawn cocktail and my pate for starters
main course will be turkey plus all the veg and extras
we shall choose from several gateaux for dessert (none of us like xmas pud)
We go to my niece's, she's the only one with a big enough house as there will be about 30 including kids. The blokes go out of the way for a couple pints while the ladies do dinner (choice of starters, main meal and choice of sweets) and feed the kids and empty a few bottles of wine. After the meal the guys do all the clearing up that is we put everything in the dish washer then we all crash out for the evening.
Breakfast.bucks fizz with toast and dripping for me ,smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for OH
Lunch Turkey all the trimmings , pud is cheeses and celery.
Family over on boxing day but we all agreed steak, jacket and salad for lunch ,homemade triffle for pud.
paddywak that brings back memories from my Childhood...Our CHristmas back then was just like that. All the extended family and us kids and all the men went off to the Pub for a few pints. After lunch we all played cards for proper money, we thought we were really grown up :o)
Same as nannyb up to lunch time, but my OH always buys a Christmas Pud which neither of us like, in case someone drops in I will probably bribe the paperboy to take it away in mid January ;o)
LOL Baldric I do that every year and no one eats it...so this year I have resisted the temptation of buying one....You watch, someone is going to ask for Christmas pudding this year !
