I want my own food on my own plate, thank you very much. When did this trend for sharing a pudding start?
I can understand, perhaps, a mixture of finger food so each can have a taste of different things but share one pudding in one bowl? Never.

I always think that it's not caught on in the UK because sometimes we have to take our enemies to diner!

I think 'nicking' food and sharing food are completely different.
I wouldn't dream of putting my hands anywhere near someone else's plate, and just helping myself to a few chips. It's so rude!
Sharing is lovely though, although I think it's only really appropriate with starters and desserts. I don't like to see people feeding each other their mains. That's just ming.
